To draw even more mileage out of your email marketing campaign effort, most Email Marketing Providers (EMP) nowadays allow the use of social media features in your emails.
Announcing your social media presence through emails
A good way to get started is by using an email dedicated entirely to inform your subscribers about your presence in one or more social media channels and invite them to be your followers. Some EMPs even offer templates that you can use right away for free! The biggest advantage of announcing through a devoted template is that you will be able to focus on your email message on explaining to your subscribers the benefits of being your follower. Likewise, your subscribers will be better engaged to a dedicated email on your call to action in becoming your follower.
Nevertheless, be sure to keep your subscribers up-to-date by sending dedicated invitation email periodically. However, that does not mean you should be bombarding them too often despite the ease of use of this delivery method. For example, a quarterly invitation to non-responders should suffice to maximize participation without annoying them.
Adding social links into your emails
This is a much simplified way than using dedicated email or template but still capable of directing your readers to the same destination. Essentially, social links are text links, icons, or images that you can include in your email. So, when someone comes across your email attached with social links and wishes to know more about your social media presence, he can just click through the link.
Adding social links into your emails becomes easier when your EMP allows you to select and automatically embed them into the email. In the case where link embedding is not possible, adding social links into your email is no different from including any normal link to your email.
Posting your emails to social media sites
You can post your emails to your social media sites by including a link to a version of your email hosted on the server, just like a web page. There are a number of ways this can be done. Some EMPs allow you to automate email sending to social media sites, while others might archive your emails as web pages and then refer them as a link to the archive.
In all, posting your emails on social media sites exposes you to a new source of audience who are not in your email list. It also carries a far-reaching influence especially when they make referral about you to the rest of their network.
